{"id":1464,"date":"2024-11-05T20:48:52","date_gmt":"2024-11-05T20:48:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ehp2.com\/?p=1464"},"modified":"2024-11-05T20:48:53","modified_gmt":"2024-11-05T20:48:53","slug":"avancee-majeure-pour-laviation-hydrogene-et-la-decarbonation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ehp2.com\/en\/avancee-majeure-pour-laviation-hydrogene-et-la-decarbonation\/","title":{"rendered":"Major Breakthrough for Hydrogen Aviation and Decarbonization!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The EICLHAIR consortium <strong>EICLHAIR<\/strong> bringing together EHP2, DTC, and I-SEE <strong>EHP2<\/strong>, <strong>DTC<\/strong>, et <strong>I-SEE<\/strong> has been awarded state funding under <strong>the France 2030 Call for Projects: Producing Low-Carbon Aircraft in France.<\/strong>The consortium has reached a critical milestone with the <strong>completion of the<\/strong> <strong>detailed design phase<\/strong> for the development of a <strong>hybrid internal combustion H2 engine<sub>2<\/sub> with cryogenic storage, integrated into the airframe of a light aircraft, the IC-10.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This innovation represents a giant leap towards more sustainable aviation!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd39 <strong>Our Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>H2 Hybrid Engine:<sub>2<\/sub> <\/strong>Designed from scratch by EHP2, <strong>our internal combustion engine delivers 200 kW<\/strong> for a mass of 80 kg with an efficiency of nearly <strong>45% during cruising<\/strong> fully decarbonized and pollutant-free. Paired with an <strong>EHP2 electric motor (60V\/40kW)<\/strong> and an EHP2 battery (1.6 kWh), <strong>batterie EHP2 de 1.6kWh<\/strong>this innovative powertrain includes a fully electric, independent, and stealthy backup mode for optimal hybridization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>H2 Cryogenic Tank:<sub>2<\/sub> <\/strong>Developed by DTC, <strong>this 15 kg<\/strong> tank and its fuel system are integrated into the current IC-10 airframe, offering a gravimetric index<strong> <\/strong>of 30% and a range of over 2 hours of flight at cruising speed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Integration into an IC-10: <\/strong>Managed by I-SEE, the integration of the cryogenic system and engine has been designed with solutions <strong>that minimize impact on the aircraft's systems, structure, and characteristics.<\/strong>The goal is to ensure the most seamless operation compared to the original IC-10 (912S fossil-fuel engine) while <strong>optimizing its performance.<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\udfaf <strong>First flight scheduled for 2026.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you to our teams
